Wedding crashers will crack you up - Wedding Crashers Reviews
Wedding Crashers (2005)
Staring: Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson
Directed by: David Dobkin
What It's About:
Two divorce lawyers have found the best way to meet and get women ? pose as the ultimate sweet fun guys at weddings and woo the bridesmaids. Things are going well until they get sucked into more with an Undersecretaries? daughters.
The Good:
Vince Vaughn turns in, easily, his best performance. All of Vince?s moments, facial expression, lines, everything, is pure gold and should be recognized as such. In a few months, all college kids will own Crashers, and be quoting lines at parties. This movie is definitely hilarious, and Wilson is just as funny, but he?s more the conflicted voice of reason in this movie, so it?s not his job to be on the ball, but rather set up Vaughn for the knockouts, which he does consistently well. Director David Dobkin learned the way to handle this new comedians ? just let them be themselves and ad lib. Crashers is easily one of the raunchiest, funniest movies audiences have been treated to in a long time.
The Bad:
There are a few flaws with the overall film, which could have been easily fixed, but sadly made it into the final cut. First off, the movie is long, and it feels it near the end. There are several sequences that are in the film to help with character development, but it almost feels out of place given the nature of the jokes. Crashers tries to flirt the line with off-the-cuff comedy and romantic comedy?and that?s really difficult. There could have been far less formulaic boy/girl falling for each other and the movie wouldn?t have suffered. Christopher Walken also, while funny, is way under-utilized.
Recommendation:
For those who really enjoy the obscene type of humor, or have enjoyed Vince Vaughn in his previous roles, you?ll love this film, and should see it. Be prepared for a somewhat slower ending, but overall, it?s a good night out.
Trivia:
This is the first time Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn have been in a movie together without Ben Stiller.
